Bacterial Plating Tests
Duration: Variable
Liquid plating of seed extracts onto selective agar media
Bacterial Plating Tests
Test Details
Seeds are soaked in sample extraction buffer. Depending on seed type, seeds may also be ground. Serial dilutions of seed extract are plated onto agar media selective for the target pathogen(s). After incubation and visual examination, follow-up tests such as PCR or pathogenicity testing may be necessary.
