As announced in our last newsletter, we will soon be implementing price adjustments for services provided by the Seed Laboratory

As the cover crop season ramps up, the Iowa State University Seed Laboratory is once again receiving a steady stream of samples.

Beginning August 1, 2025, the Seed Laboratory will adjust pricing for select testing services — our first update since October 2022.

You can now pay your seed testing invoices by credit card through our secure online portal.

Beginning July 15, 2025, the Seed Laboratory will implement price adjustments for some of our services. This is the first pricing update since October 2022.

You may have noticed our newsletter has been missing in action the past couple of months. We want to sincerely apologize for that unexpected hiatus!

We have been encouraging our customers to utilize our E-transfer form, especially for shipments of 10 or more samples.

Please be advised that there will be delays in test start dates and receiving report results from December 23rd through Jan 3rd.

Our Trait Lab is happy to announce the following testing options have been added.

A frequently asked question pertains to the number of seeds required for germination testing. For official germination tests, the lab necessitates a minimum of 400 seeds.

Beginning October 1st, our Quality Lab will implement a new policy regarding germination testing to improve efficiency and streamline reporting.

Things to remember when identifying your samples:

Starting September 1, we will no longer contact customers for additional seed when a specific quantity has been requested for testing.

We are announcing a new policy for germination testing that will take effect on October 1st, in alignment with AOSA guidelines.

We want to inform you about an important change regarding your account numbers.

Due to software changes at the university Accounts Receivable office, new account numbers were assigned to all of our customers.
